Experiences of addiction: Final interviews

ByronFollowing successful data collection in Melbourne, Bendigo and Sydney, SSAC research project ‘Experiences of addiction, treatment and recovery’ is now entering its final phase of interviewing, this time in the New South Wales Northern Rivers region. Research associate Dr Kiran Pienaar has commenced interviewing in Byron Bay, and plans to collect data across the region, with interviews planned for Lismore and Nimbin as well as coastal Northern Rivers. The research will be conducted over two separate trips, with a break in between to allow additional recruitment and planning. The Northern Rivers region was selected for the project’s fourth site because of its diversity, and the aim is to collect personal stories from Northern Rivers residents of all ages, living in regional towns as well as rural locations, and involved in a variety of work and study. These stories will be presented on a publicly accessible website, livesofsubstance.org, due to be launched in late 2016.
